Just about ready to install my Rockford T300001BD, but need some help first...?
Ok i've got this so far:
2 Audiobahn Flame Q's (1100 RMS, 2200 RMS total)
-Impedence: 2 ohms
-Dual Voice Coil
Rockford T300001BD
-2000 W x 1 @ 2 Ohms RMS
A 4.0 Farad Capacitor
1)what amp kit do i need? would i need 0 gauge wires? what all should be included in the amp kit that i get?
2) What kind of battery should i get to handle all of this?
3) what should i know while installing everything? i'm going to be installing everything with my auto tech class, so i'll have some help
4) I wanted to integrate a switch somewhere in my dash to turn the amp on and off (ie when the cops come around lol). What kind of small switch can i get for this?
oh and i forgot to include the model name of my subs: AW1206T. here's the website too: http://www.audiobahn.com/Audiobahn06/pages/Amps.html
ninety, i already said that i had an amp capabale of pushes both my subs
OK first of all, ou are going to need 0 guage wire, definitely.
In the amp kit, should be long enough power wire for your vehicle, same guage ground wire, about 3 feet, audio cables, remote wire, and some kits come with speaker wire. I suggest buying some 10 guage speaker wire, even power wire will work, because you can push more power to the subs, resulting in harder hits.
Second, run some wire from your alternator to your battery, then to another battery in your trunk. That will get you the most power.
While installing, maybe common sense, but anyways: tape the ends of hot wires so you dont risk grounding out your car!
About that switch idea: you don't ned a switch, just turn down your radio! But if you really must have a switch:
Just go to a radioshack or some small electronice store and find a small toggle switch. Once the REMOTE WIRE is ran from the back of the radio, cut it where you want your switch, and put the switch there where you cut it. This will make the amplifer think that you shut your radio off and power down when you have the switch turned off!
Simple, eh? Good luck!
