connecting a 12v 80mm cooling fan to a 240v stereo amplifier?
hi i have a sony mini component hifi system model no STR_H2800 and i need to know is there a way i can connect a 12v 80mm cooling fan to my stereo amplifier so it comes on when i turn on the stereo as my amp gets very warm when it it turned on and the volume is turned up half way so is there a connection inside for a cooling fan? or will it be better to use a 240v 80mm fan?
While it's entirely possible that some of the internal circuitry of your hifi operates at 12 volts, it is unlikely that there will be a spare connector intended for use with a fan.
If you are unfamailiar with the inner workings of your stereo, you would be better off keeping it simple with a mains powered fan.
