Physics problem need help 10 points?
A pair of fuzzy dice is hanging by a string from your rear-view mirror.
While you are accelerating from a stoplight to 25 m/s in 7.0 s, what angle theta does the string make with the vertical?
Yes this is a vector problem, but the first answer is way off...for example, Vy is 0 m/s.
There are two force vectors, one due to gravity (Fy) and one due to the car's acceleration (Fx).
The mass isn't given, but since F = ma, we can just use the acceleration vectors, Ax and Ay
Ay = 9.81 m/s^2
V = Vo + AT
V = 25 m/s
Vo = 0 m/s
T = 7.0 s
So Ax = 3.57 m/s^2
tanΘ = Ax/Ay
Θ = arctan(Ax/Ay) = 20.0°
