Car Audio Capacitor issues. please help...?
i have a capacitor attached into my audio system. here is a list of what I have.
sony xplod Amp 250 watt. the amp is turned up to half power.
1 sony xplod 10" subwoofer 800 watt. (it sounds fine even though there is a difference in wattage)
20 volt capacitor (not sure how many ohms)
recently my capacitor started making clicking sounds. The lights from the digital cap also started flashing. I finally got it to stop clicking by unhooking it from the car battery.
Anyway I can prevent this? or stop it in general
Probably a loose connection on its terminals, the clicking sounds may be sparks from the loose connection thus creating the caps readout to flash. and capacitors are rated in farads. Just lose the cap, you dont need it AT ALL, just another component to make a small system complicated. all you need is your deck, amp and your woofer and thats it. Rid of it and your problems will be gone.
