Give it a try, Im not an expert or anything so I wouldn't know haha. But There was not enough room to install speaker in my kick panels, so I had my 6 3/4's in the rear deck facing up and the tweeters right beside them pointed towards the front. It seemed like I could turn it up more than normal since they were not right beside me, and it echoed just a tad giving it that "concert" sound. But that was probably just my cars lack of insulation.

But I recently put the tweeters up front and you could hear the highs a whole lot clearer but it sounded a little odd since it was spaced out.

So, my guess, yours would sound fine.
