should i get a new alternator or a serperate car audio battery for my system?
i have 2 kicker l5 powered by a kicker 750.1 Amp and my lights dim really bad and i was wondering what i should do about it? a car audio battery or a new alternator mayb a high out put one and how much would one of those cost hit me back playas
The new battery would just worsen the problem due to the fact that the alternator powers everything in the car and the battery, which the alternator recharges when the voltage gets low, is a back-up providing power for anything above the amperage that the alternator cannot create. Having a second battery would just worsen the strain on the alternator, being that it would have to charge 2 batteries, thus making the problem worse. Bottom line a new alternator would be the way to go.

viet is wrong, a capacitor is nothing more than a small battery that will only cause more strain to your alternator, the alternator has to charge the capacitor. which in turn will casue even more strain on it
