Home Theater help/opinions?
I'd like to know how you would rate my set up. I've got a Mitsubishi WD-57731 television, Harmon Kardon AVR 254 powering my Cerwin Vega VS series on front channel, Mitsubishi M-CTR5 center channel, Mitsubishi M-SUB10 subwoofer, and Klipsch B2 bookshelf's on surround duty. I have not set up the 7.1 yet b/c I don't want wires running across the room. No blueray yet either. It's coming though. Right now I have an Xbox 360 (used as my dvd player too), and Apple TV, and Direct TV HD. The Cerwin Vegas, center channel, and subwoofer were all "adopted" from the previous owner of my house so I don't know much of anything about them. I'm very interested in how my system stacks up and what changes, if any, those of you who really know this stuff would make. When I do get around to going 7.1 how would you handle it? (Like move the Klipsch to back surround and buy something else for surround or vice versa or something entirely different?) Thanks for any help!
Not a bad inheritance.
One thing is you will probably want to match the 4 surrounds if you do go to 7.1
But in most setups I find 7.1 unnecessary. The fronts are really what matter most anyway.
Wireless systems are still fairly weak so running wires is still necessary You can feed them under a rug or run them through the ceiling. Or tuck them under baseboards.
