Looking to get a fuel efficient, but nice sleek looking car. Any suggestions?
Right now im looking at:
94-97 Camaro V6
96 Sun Fire Convertable V4
94 Mustang V6
90-97 Honda Accord V4
90 Honda CRX Si V4
90-97 Honda Civic V4
66 Plymouth Valient V6
67 Mustang V6
I know Hondas get best MPG, but im also willing to sacrifice a little for a sleeker looking car, as long as it has decent fuel ratings (fueleconomy.org is horribly innacurate)
What I would really like to know, are the Camaro's and Sun Fire I posted reliable? How are Camaros on gas? Is the sun fire a peice or is it solid?
The 90 CRX Si looks nice for an early 90's car.
The two older cars I posted, they are V6, but im not sure how well these cars do on gas. The Valliant looks awsome, black and red, with cocher classic white wall tires. The Mustang has a rough spot on the hood and some rust underneath but runs good.
Just give me your honest opinions, or suggestions of a different car.
Please, no negative comments.
The best cars in your list as far as reliability would be the later year Honda's, and the most efficient would be the Civics and CRX, followed by the Accord and Sunfire.
A little education for you here - none of these cars have V4's, the 4 cylinder models are all inline fours. Also, the Valiant and the 67 Mustang are not V6's either, they are inline sixes (the Plymouth being the famous old "slant" 6). The only cars with V6's would be the newer Camaro and Mustang on the list. None of the 6 cylinder cars are good on gas, but the newer ones will be both peppier and better on gas than the 60's models. The older cars have classic styling, but will be the worst handlers here by far, so you have to decide what's important to you.
The CRX is a classic and was a very fun car. If it's in good shape and you can live with two seats, it would be the most fun to drive out of any on this list.
With any of these - get it checked by a mechanic before you buy so you don't find there is some huge problem with the engine or transmission afterwards.
Hope this helps and good luck
