Pioneer head is fine, Polks are fine. No you cant hook the sub to the head. You will need to buy/build a box, buy the sub, buy an Amp Install Kit, and put it all together. Kinda a hassle for a newbie in car audio. you would be best served getting a all in one bass solution. got the box, speakers, and amp all together, all you need to do is send it power and signal.
