Subwoofer help????plz?
hey imbuying a y link to hook my comp to my home stero and i was wondering if i could soemhow hook my cars subwoofer up to it its connected to a rockerfosgate 150watt Amp and idk what brand the sub is but its a 12 inch sub. so how can i hoo the sup to my stero (which is a jvc compact componet system fs-s77) and please use details cause i dont know much about electricity and car stuff PLZZ help ty

I would advise against it. Here is why:
The JVC fs-s77 has a rather small Amplifier built into it despite it's manufacturer's claims of 100 watts. This amplifier is designed to power the speakers that came with the unit. Hooking additional speakers to it could cause a low impedance overload that would destroy the amplifier.
I take it that the sub is a single woofer unit. You could only hook that to one channel and would not get satisfactory results with the additional bass only coming from one side. .
You would need to use a crossover to get rid of all the upper-midrange sound coming out of the sub.
To do this properly would involve additional components like a pre-amplifier to combine the left and right channel signals, a crossover and an additional amplifier. By the time you spend the time and money to do this you could just as well buy a new stereo with the proper outputs for a proper home sub-woofer and a proper home sub-woofer.
