Can you fix the connector of a Subwoofer Cable?
I accidentally broke one of the RCA connectors to my NGX NX-series Subwoofer Cable. The male extension broke off, and is stuck inside the female RCA connection (in the Subwoofer, and I don't see any possible way to remove it. the backboard is sodered from the inside. i'd have to destroy the panel to remove it)...fortunately the Subwoofer has the standard two red-yellow connection, therefore the Woofer isn't ruined...
...But the Subwoofer Cable now has a broken end. Is it a simple enough procedure to have a new RCA connector spliced onto the original cable? Or should I just pony up and buy a new cable?
Yes it is possible to put a new RCA end on the cable. However, NG cables are very inexpensive and buying a new one would cost less and be less time consuming than having a new end put on. If you have given up on taking that RCA plug out of your sub a technician should be able to do that for you at a reasonable price.
