I think my TV blew up!!?
I turned on my 2 year old 42" LG LCD TV after attaching a new aerial to it. It was working fine for about 2 minutes and then it powered off. No red light - nothing. I tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't. I checked that it was all plugged in - it was. I checked the safety switch in the power box outside, all is good there as well, I even plugged the tv directly into the power point instead of to the adapter, still it's not working. I think I noticed a very slight burning smell at the rear of the tv when it initially happened, but within a few minutes the smell had gone.
Is it time to put this beast to rest, or can it be fixed? If so, would it be worth it to fix or just get a new one? I'm a little devastated as I am heading overseas in a couple of months to live, and this was going to be part of my plane ticket. Grrr. Any advice is appreciated!
Dang. I think you blew the motherboard which will be expensive. Let's hope it's something minor like a power surge. Call geek squad but it deff sounds like you blew the motherboard :/ sorry
