Where can I find information about auto insurance for high performance cars?
I have purchased a car with about $12000-$15000 worth of engine upgrades and modifications. It is basically a race car now. It is a Pontiac Firebird with an LT1 engine and 6-speed transmission, custom wheels, the works. I can't just call GEICO and get regular insurance on it can I? I need an insurance provider the specializes in high performance cars and trucks. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Without knowing what state/province you live in the question is pretty much impossible to answer. I can guarantee you no standard insurer will touch that vehicle. You will have to contact several insurance brokers in your city and see what they can find in the high risk market. Although this is something that you should have done before you bought the vehicle.
