Is it possible to add an in-dash lcd in my volvo s40?
I wanna add about a 7 inch lcd monitor with navigation and a cd and mp3 player into my (S40)*** ! Something like this, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10103_Eclipse+AVN2210p.html ...
Is this possible?
It's a 2007
The thing is my car has a weird dash and don't see how it could possibly fit one in!
what year? S40 due to there is no exact dash kits available to install aftermarket radios in to current S40's ...especially if it is the type like this

(re: add details) i thought it might be the newer style of dash ......unfortunately there is no dash kit IF needed to install said radio that you have picked,
For the newer models of cars ....I would seriously talk to an installer of experience and knowledge..(not cuircuit city ..best buy etc etc and so forth..they wont know any better then most that answer here).. to discuss your options....and measure and see what the dash my require to mount the radio of your choosing if at all possible depending on the contours of dash without modifications, That would not help resale value of car in later years and also due to the new electical system that the newer cars are using..........No longer do many cars use the old systems of12v but a complex voltage pulsing system (much like a comuter lan system now) this makes many aftermarket replacements near impossible to install........due to all electonics run on the same systems.....throughout the car.....remove one part of it and you must bypass and fool the computer to thinking it is still there....many Caddy's Benz and Beemers use this ...and some volvos now too. Sorry that got long too read...but is important to know what you may have to deal with.
clay b your logic is un-fathomable.major cosmetic reconstruction of a dash ( yes is possible..) but not practical. especially on expensive cars why don't you answer in more detail..or do you answer for the sake of answering....????... If not ou should also inform of the interface required to hook up aftermarket equipment depending on year due to multi plexing circuity again depending on model year
