95 toyota. water in lites make alternator go bad? Or bad wiring may be? water in lites?
95 Toyota. Water in lites make alternator go bad? Maybe bad wiring instead?
I have 95 toyota car. Alternator goes out, testwed at store, they say bad. Before it goes bad, there is a light in the dash always on. It is the lite that indicate when headlights are on, its a tiny orange lite shaped like a little car with lights on. This lite always on, even when headlites are compleetly off.I looked at my taillites, there is water in one still there from rain from weeks ago, won't leak out.I look at my headlites, one is fitting kind of losely in there, becaus this car was in wreck before I buy it. I buy car 6 months ago. This is only trouble. Thanks you for you answers. I post this in maintenance section too
Im sorry , I sad it wrong then.I need to know, can water in lites make alternator go bad?or wiring probelm from headlite not fitting teh way it should?Sorry. Thanks.
The little orange light actually means that one of your lights in the back (reverse light, brake light, etc.) is burnt out, not because there's something wrong with the alternator... If it WAS the alternator, then the battery light would come on instead. While it won't directly affect your alternator to have water in the headlights, it'll probably still splash up and short out your electrical system if you're talking about a tiny bit of water at the bottom, but nothing too bad if it's just condensation (water on the lens).
The alternator is what keeps the car running and keeps the battery charged while the engine is on, and it is very rare to have problems from outside influence; most of the time it goes bad simply because it is old and worn out.
Either way, you should replace your alternator before it dies out and leaves you stranded, because again, the alternator charges the battery, and if it doesn't charge, sooner or later there would be no power left to start your engine.
