Does a Police officer have to have their lights on to pull you over?
I recently got a ticket for driving to closely. the speed limit was 55 and I was going 37. Can you imagine how slow the person in front of me was going? anyways, there was a cop who had another car pulled over. right when that car was leaving the scene, I happen to look over at him and he (with Exaggerated gestures) pointed for me to pull over, he was not on his motorcycle and he didn't have his lights on. I was told that they have to have their lights on to pull you over..... is that true?
No it is not true and I am happy you got a ticket for tailgating. Most accidents are caused by that reason. My rule is "The closer ya follow me the slower I'll go".
