Car Power Amplifier blows its fuse?
wen i fit in a 20A fuse to my amplifier,it jus blow up my fuse.......where could the problem cum from........if is the transistor in the apm....where should i start......i have sum basic in electronic......i can read circuit diagram.....pls explain in detail...thank you.....
20A is pretty small for a car amplifier... even lower powered models usually have at least 30A on the fuse.
If that is in fact the right size fuse.... it sounds like the Amp might be bad, might have shorted out internally. Try replacing it with another amp and see if the other one works (using the same wiring). If the other amp doesn't work either, then the problem is somewhere in your wiring.
You could try running lengths of wire along the outside of the car just so you can visually see that nothing is wrong with it, then individually hook back up the original wires one by one, to see which wire has the problem.
