Are all 12v power adapters the same in a car?
I recently added an in car pc to my truck. The LCD Touch Screen I am using has a cigarette adapter to power it and it has broken. Other than the filter that keeps the 12v's constant when the alternator puts out 14.4 and the size of the plug is there anything special I should be looking for when i buy a new adapter?
The back of the LCD screen says Rating DC 12v, MAX:8watts
They're pretty much the same. Just be sure to get one with a built in fuse.
If you want though, you could just hard wire it. Just tap into a 12v source in the fuse block.
