what blows out car speakers if u have a Amp n everything?
y does car speakers blow out most of time which car speaker dosent blow
There are many things that will blow speakers. Most people think too much power will blow them. This is true, but not entirely. Knowing how a speaker works will help you understand why they self destruct. Electricity flows throught the voice coil of a speaker in AC current. This creates an electromagnetic field that reacts with the fixed magnet on the outside. Every time the current changes direction, the coil either pushes or pulls the cone up and down. The voice coil is made up of a very long winding of very thin wire, and it heats up as it is used. The movement of the speaker draws air across the coil and cools it. The main cause of speaker failure is when the voice coil overheats and either shorts out or siezes up. The cause of this is a clipped sine wave or distortion. As long as the signal is a clean and the sine wave is smooth and even, the speaker moves in a smooth and even manner. Overstressing the Amplifier clips the tops of the sine waves and the speaker mimics that. Instead of making an even up and down motion, the speaker moves up, then pauses, moves down, then pauses and repeats. This pause builds up more heat than the speaker can dissipate. This is 90% of why new vehicle speakers blow.
The other 10% usually comes with age as the factory speakers are made of paper and foam. Aftermarket speakers are made with synthetic plastics or thin metal cones and polypropylene surrounds instead of foam.
