How to hok up a Car Stereo Amp for cleanest sound?
I have an SPL Series III CRM 300-2 300W max amplifier, and I am trying to hook up 2 Sony Explod 10in subs to it which peak at 700w. The Amps qualifications are as follows: 4 Ohm Rms 70 x 2
2 Ohm Rms 85 x 2
Mono Rms 170
I am trying to put this in a Ford Ranger with an extended cab. I was thinking about only hooking up one sub, what would be the best set up for the cleanest sound, and what is the easiest way to hook it up?
You are really underpowering those subs and i HIGHLY don't recommend running them until you find a amp that matches the rms power output.
Running this way will cause the amp to not only get hot like previously stated but also, since it is trying to do much more work than it was made for it will most likely send your subs into clipping and they will blow.
Underpowering subwoofers, especially that much, is a no no in my book. But if you have to, only use one sub, then when it blows you have another to fall back on

US $249.99
