Should I, and what is needed to install an in-dash stereo deck on my own?
I'm looking to buy this stereo
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8958899&type=product&id=1216424485972
to replace the factory deck in my 2001 Chevy Prism. I'm kind of strapped for cash, so if I can I'd like to avoid the $50 installation fee (which usually amounts to double that with all the material charges). Is it a good idea to try and install the deck on my own?
If so, what do I need to install it?
Thanks!
Dude, most people dont hold sony in a high regard. Look at this unit, its only 109 shipped, and comes with the wire harness, Dash Mounting Kit, and IPOD hookup cable! Plus, pioneer is a better unit. I ordered my cd player from this company, they are very legit.

To install it, you need basic tools, screwdriver, wire cutters/crimpers, some butt connectors, and thats pretty much it. Some GM's require an "antenna adapter", but you can cross that bridge when you get to it. Pick tools help with some cars to remove panels and what not, but I think a prism is straight forward.
