New Car Audio System advice?
I want to install a new audio system in my 1995 Honda Civic LX. Im looking at a Kenwood HU that has 50 watts peak x 4. I want to replace all 4 factory speakers with 4 new kenwood speakers that have 240 watts peak and 40 watts RMS each.I also want to install a decent sub system. Im not sure what kind of sub setup i wanna go with. I don't want to set off Car Alarms i just want a deep solid tone and a little kick if I want it. What all am i gonna need and what is a decent sub setup for my needs? thanks
for the door speakers you are going to need an Amp if you want to get max efficiency out of them. The HU channels are only going to put about 12-16 watts RMS. so for the door speakers get a 4 Channel Amp.
a decent sub is probably an Infinity or Rockford Fosgate (RF). get a RF, kicker or Infinity mono-block amp. if you just want a small amount of bass get a 10" sub that has a RMS of about 100 watts. get an amp that has a similar RMS. after that you are going to need a good box that has the right volume for your sub. then wires. the wires gonna cost about $50, box is $50-200 depending how many subs and sealed or vented, subs about $75-100 each, and Amps are gonna be $150-200 each.
