Truck Subwoofer Box in a Car Trunk?
Hi guys. Right now I have one Rockford Fosgate Kicker Comp 12" sub in the trunk of my car. My problem is that the box is huge and takes up majority of my trunk. I was wondering if it would be a wise move to use a Truck Subwoofer Enclosure in the trunk of my car because they're thinner? I've looked on most sites and all the boxes I've seen are generally the same width. Let me know what to do!
btw the enclosure I have now is about 14 inches width from front to back.
I wouldn't suggest that you put either a Rockford Fosgate sub or a kicker comp sub (which ever it is that you have) in a truck box. most Rockford and Kicker subs need more airspace than what that truck box will provide. typical truck boxes give you about 1 cubic foot air space, give or take a little, and your sub will need more space than that to sound as good as it could. i would say to find out the airspace required for your sub and box type and get a box with that internal air volume. and I suggest that you maybe look into a ported/vented box for best sound.
