Why does my 3 Way Car Speaker have no bass?
I have bought myself a pair of 6x9 3-way Car Audio Speakers recently and properly installed it. Sound quality is great and everything but with only this problem.
When my sound is centered, the bass fads out in my speakers, but when I shift the range to either left or right side of the car the bass comes back, but only under those conditions.
Why does that happen and is there anyway to make it so that the bass stays consistent?
Your speakers are wired "out of phase". Reverse the wires on one speaker ONLY.
An out of phase condition causes one voice coil to move out while the other moves in, and the resulting sound waves to cancel each other and a significant reduction in bass. When you balance it to one side or the other, you are hearing the sound from just the one speaker and the phase cancellation disappears.
