If it is 100 degrees outside, keeping the windows or doors close will not help, in fact it myght even get hotter. I would open a window from two oposite directions so the air coming in would have an exit and there fore create a draft. do not put the fan directly in front of the window but in cooler shaded area. the draft will do its work. don't forse hot air in, let it flow.
